The title of our Wednesday Evening prayer list is "First of All Pray" based upon this Scripture. Here at First Baptist, we very much believe in the power of prayer and the encouragement of Scripture to make it the foremost thing in our thinking. We have seen God answer prayer in mighty ways and we will hold firmly to our belief in continuing in prayer.

It has been said that the Church's Prayer meeting is the most important meeting of the church during the week. It is during this time that we gather together in unity of spirit and agreement for God's will to be accomplished in the lives of people in need, in ministries beyond and ministries near, and for salvation to be found and grown in the lives of many who are near and dear to us.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting is a focused time in prayer for what God will do in the lives of people, the church, and the world. While there is encouragement for any who feel led by the Spirit of God to lead in prayer during the meeting, there is no pressure on any who attend to pray aloud. The only request is that those who do come would pray in their heart - both during the meeting and throughout the week for those needs that are brought up before the group.
